Decide if you would like all capital letters, a mixture of capital and lower case, or all lower case. Scan our LETTER STYLES to find four or five that are close to the kind of style you want, then choose from them.
Want to see it before you order? No problem. We can print your name out in a few different styles, and email them to you before you order. It's much easier to choose a style when you can see exactly how it will look.
We can also create numbers and punctuation characters to match any style.
If you'd like a font or style that's not on our list, send us a sample. We can match anything quite closely.
3. CHOOSE A SIZE AND AN EFFECT: Our PRICE LIST includes letter sizes from 2" to 12" tall with six style options. These are our most popular sizes but if you need something larger or smaller we can provide it. There is no size limit.
We can add your choice of several shadow, outline, and color combination effects to any style you choose.
Letter size is based on capital letters. Lower case g's, p's, and q's will add to the overall height of your name. Shadows, outlines and other effect options may also add to the height and width of the name. If you need help determining the final size of your name or graphic, please Contact our Staff.
Try the size for fit by cutting a piece of paper to the finished size. Put it up where your name will go to see if it will work.
You can also just tell us the size of the space you want your boatname to fit into, and we can make it fit by adjusting the height, width, and spacing of the letters.
CURVING THE NAME: Boatnames are provided on a straight, horizontal, line. If you wish to curve the name, we can tell you how to do it. Or, better yet, we can curve it for you on the computer before we produce it.
Names on compound curved surfaces, such as reverse transoms and sloped fly-bridges, may require curving to appear straight. If you think this might be the case in your application, don't hesitate to call us! We can help with even the most difficult installations.
SPECIAL REQUESTS: We can customize any "stock" boatname by slanting it forward or back, condensing or stretching it, twisting or fading it, just to name a few of the things we can do to it. If you want to take advantage of this service, give us a call! We can suggest what will work best with your name.
If you have any concerns about the finished size or appearance, don't hesitate to call or e-mail us for size confirmation or recommendations.
4. CHOOSE YOUR COLORS: Look at our VINYL COLORS page for a few examples of over 200 colors available. Please be aware that the colors as they appear on your screen may not match the actual vinyl colors. If you need to match a color closely, send us a small sample and we can recommend the closest vinyl match. Ask us for samples if you would like to see more. Our vinyl stock also comes in a variety of finishes such as metallics, matte, and real 22K gold.
Our vinyl stock is compatible with fiberglass, painted or varnished wood, plastic, glass, Mylar sail material, and most metal surfaces. Vinyl letters generally don't stick to inflatable boats unless you choose one of our special materials suitable for that application. Please inquire if you are interested in those materials.
5. SELECT A STOCK GRAPHIC: If you would like one of our STOCK GRAPHICS , just select the one you want and specify the size and orientation you prefer. If you'd like an original graphic for your sign or boat, our graphic artist can design it - just give us a call. Or, if you prefer to use your own design, we'll reproduce your camera-ready artwork for $16.00 per image.
We also carry premium vinyl striping, an easy way to add colorful accents to your sign or boat. Striping is available in 75 foot and 150 foot rolls in all colors. Made from the same material used for our graphics and letters, it will not crack or peel, even in salt water. Colors will last 5 to 7 years without fading. Specify the style and color by number. Indicate whether you would like all 'UPPER CASE' or 'Upper & Lower Case' letters. Letter height is based on the capital letters. For example, an 8-inch style will have 8 inch tall capitals and lower case b's, h's, and l's, but the lower case a's, u's, and e's will be proportionally smaller.
Letters that descend below the baseline, such as lower case g's, y's, and p's, will increase the overall height of the name, so be sure to take that into consideration when calculating space you need for your name.
REMEMBER: Our styles and colors were selected for their suitability for boatnames. We have many more colors and styles available, however. If you have any special requests, or are trying to match something and you don't see it here, please give us a call.
